Poppies Before Diablo

Now framed and ready to hang in a custom natural wood floating frame with a 1-inch matte black shadow reveal, this 24″ x 24″ oil painting on birch panel captures a vibrant spring ridgetop in Northern California.

Inspired by a hike through Rockville Hills Regional Park during peak bloom, the composition looks out across the tidal marshes of Suisun Bay toward Mount Diablo. A winding trail serves as the visual throughline, guiding the eye from bright foreground poppies toward the quiet, distant mountain. Deliberate shifts in style mirror the landscape: grasses and rolling hills are rendered with loose, expressive gestures, while wildflowers feature tactile realism that captures the uplifting energy of cresting a sunlit hill.

The handcrafted floater frame suspends the cradled birch panel cleanly within a minimalist profile, fitted with an installed French cleat for secure, flush wall hanging.

Why buy an original when I can just buy the print?
A one-of-a-kind artwork will make your space your own. How often have you noticed the same Ikea artwork in several friends’ living rooms? Even if the artwork isn’t by a well-known artist, the originality of the piece evokes more of a sense of wealth and personality into your living space.

Investment
The great thing about buying artwork is that it can often appreciate in value. Unlike furniture or Pottery Barn statement pieces, artwork typically does not lose its value for having been pre-owned. Instead, if you invest smart, your artwork may be worth more after years hanging in your living room than it was worth when you first bought it.
